About me

My name is Mattia, and I am a psychologist with a strong focus on personal development and sustainable change. My journey in psychology began at the University of Applied Sciences in Leiden, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology. Through internships and professional experience in general mental healthcare, I discovered my passion for helping people break through limiting patterns and achieve their goals.     

Over the years, I have specialized further including in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and as a registered SKJ Youth Professional and cognitive behavioural therapist. These methods help me tailor my approach to the unique needs of each person. My style is clear, collaborative, and focused on gaining insight that leads to lasting change.

“Ik kwam terecht bij Mattia toen ik last had van paniek- en angstklachten, die op een niveau kwamen waar ik in m’n eentje niet meer uitkwam en daarom hulp ben gaan zoeken. De sfeer bij het intakegesprek via de telefoon en de eerste afspraak was heel gemakkelijk. Hierbij altijd met het idee dat ik altijd even contact kan zoeken om weer eens te sparren en dat is een fijn idee. Ik ben blij hoe snel ik terecht kon, omdat dit erger heeft voorkomen. Mijn dank is heel groot want door onze gesprekken ga ik met een goedgevulde toolbox de toekomst in die ervoor zorgt dat ik dingen minder angstig inzie maar juist positiever. “In maart jl. zijn we het coachingstraject begonnen. Ik heb me specifiek gericht op een coach met een psychologische achtergrond, omdat ik meer diepgang wilde in het waarom van bepaalde vraagstukken in plaats van direct te zoeken naar dé oplossing. De kennismaking met jou was warm en ik voelde meteen een goede connectie. Doorvragen en oprechte (wederzijdse) interesse vormen een goede voedingsbodem voor mooie gesprekken. Wat me direct opviel was dat je inging op het gevoel van specifieke situaties uit mijn leven. Dat was in eerste instantie confronterend, omdat je het moment en het gevoel weer beleeft. Het waarom van dat gevoel interpreteerde je zelf, en dat vond ik prettig — zeker in combinatie met de theorie erachter. Ik ben analytisch ingesteld, dus dat sprak me erg aan. Zelfs als je “best goed” antwoordt op de vraag “hoe gaat het?”, wordt er doorgevraagd op dat woordje “best”. Daardoor word je gedwongen om je gevoel echt onder woorden te brengen. Ik had het idee dat ik door eerdere coaching al veel zelfkennis had. Wat nog ontbrak was het vertrouwen in mezelf, met name rondom zelfvertrouwen en perfectie. Ik heb het gevoel dat ik daarin door jou ben gesteund en heb geleerd dat de wereld echt niet alleen met mij bezig is, al voelt dat soms wel zo. Dat heeft me geholpen om los te laten en steviger in mijn schoenen te staan. Wat ik bijzonder vind aan het traject is dat inzichten ontstaan door gesprekken, zonder huiswerk of opdrachten. Het voelt niet als trucjes leren, maar meer als een reset van gedachten, waardoor je in bepaalde situaties anders handelt. De EMDR-sessies vond ik bijzonder om te doen. Een soort “kracht van de eenvoud”. Op het moment zelf minder belastend dan kort daarna. Moe en een beetje zweverig. Heb ik er iets aan gehad? Ik denk het wel, en ik ben benieuwd hoe dit doorwerkt in mijn dagelijks leven. Doordat ik meer rust in mijn hoofd ervaar, heb ik het idee dat dit ook een positief effect heeft op mijn lichamelijke klachten. Ik kan de correlatie niet bewijzen, maar ik geloof er wel in. Al met al heb ik het gevoel dat ik stappen in de goede richting heb gezet. Het heeft tijd nodig om dingen echt te laten landen. Daarom zou ik het prettig vinden om mijn vorderingen periodiek te blijven monitoren. Ik heb de samenwerking met jou als coach en als persoon tot nu toe als positief en effectief ervaren.”

You have the best personality I could ask for in a psychologist. You taught me a lot and I cannot thank you enough, as you might have noticed. "I found Mattia online when I was looking for a psychologist who also understands what it means to be an entrepreneur. From the very first session, it was clear that Mattia is an entrepreneur himself. What I really appreciated was that Mattia truly listens and offers a tailored approach. Fees & reimbursements

More and more employers and unions recognize the importance of personal development. There is a good chance your collective labor agreement (CAO) includes a personal development or training budget. This amount is reserved by your employer and can, upon agreement, be used for coaching or career counseling. You can find your CAO online or request it from your HR manager. Bring it with you to our first meeting so we can explore the possibilities together.    

In many cases, (part of) the trajectory can be reimbursed by your employer. The personal development budget (POB), also called individual development budget (IOB) in some CAOs, is an annual amount available for individual development. This budget may be used for coaching, guidance, or therapeutic treatment.
